東漢興起，唐朝曆法承續，
南方河道重現大禹的謀略。
怎料這瘴癘橫行之地，
我竟能活著進入帝王之州。
雷雨甦醒蟄伏的蟲豸，
春日暖陽放飛了鷽鳩。
沿著炎熱的海岸迂迴前行，
在閩地的山角登高又下行。
山嶺之路分隔了中原華夏，
江河之源在此處於上游。
看見鮮花便獨自歡笑，
看到青草即刻忘卻煩憂。
自從居住在這需多重翻譯的邊地，
天上的星宿已運行了兩周。
對回歸故鄉已斷絕了盼望，
親戚故舊也互不尋求。
丟棄的手杖，枯木竟重新生根，
困窘的魚兒，水干後反而浮游。
大道衰微時，黃鶴已然離去，
時運開啓處，白駒選擇停留。
江邊的女子清晨炊煮黍米，
渡口的童子夜晚划動行舟。
這昌明的時代實在值得遇合，
切莫遲誤了洛陽城的暢遊。

The Eastern Han rose, Tang's calendar took its course,
The southern river restored Yu's ancient force.
Who knew this land of pestilence and blight,
Would see me living, to the Emperor's city take flight?
Thunderstorms awaken dormant insects from sleep,
Spring sun sets turtledoves free in a leap.
Winding along the shores of the southern sea,
Ascending, descending Min's mountains, wild and free.
The ridge path divides the Central Land's domain,
The river's source, the upper reaches we gain.
Seeing flowers, I alone break into a smile,
Looking at grass, all worries vanish for a while.
Since dwelling where translation was doubly required,
The stars in heaven have completed two cycles, untired.
Hopes of returning home were utterly cut,
No aid from kin or relatives was sought.
Discarded staff, though withered, takes root anew,
Stranded fish in dried-up pools find currents to pursue.
As the Way waned, the yellow crane took its leave,
With fortune's turn, the white colt chose to stay and cleave.
River maids cook millet at the break of day,
Ferry boys ply their oars at night, making their way.
This glorious age, truly, one should not miss,
Do not delay your visit to Luoyang's bliss.
