舊日溪邊有千萬竿竹子，
在風雨夜裡珊珊作響。
我白髮蒼蒼來到這江畔國度，
不惜重金買下這耐寒的品格。
剛剛移栽損傷了帶白粉的竹節，
終究會盤繞著硃紅的欄杆生長。
待到它們獲得春天的力量，
就能看到新抽出的美麗筍殼了。

White-haired, I came to this river country,
Spent gold to buy this enduring cold.
Newly transplanted, their powdery joints are hurt,
