月亮在十五之前生長，
天天盼望它光彩圓滿。
月亮在十五之後滿盈，
天天害怕它光彩消瘦。
看不見夜花的顏色，
一杯酒成了昏暗的濁酒。
匣中是一面生苔的銅鏡，
光芒短淺照不亮虛空。
我不吝惜去修補明月，
只慚愧沒有這樣的良工巧匠。

Before the moon grows to the fifteenth,
Each day I hope for its full, bright roundness.
After the moon is full past the fifteenth,
Each day I fear its bright splendor thinning.
I cannot see the colors of night flowers,
A cup of wine turns into dark drink.
In the case lies bronze, moss on its back,
Its light too short to illuminate the void.
I would not grudge mending the bright moon,
But shame I lack such a fine craftsman.
