早早出行星辰還掛在天上，
走了數里天色仍未放明。
分辨不清雲霧和林木的顏色，
只聽見風聲水聲空空迴蕩。
月亮從山脊上緩緩落下，
銀河斜貫進北斗星之間。
漸漸行至巍峨的城門之外，
朦朧中望見了洛陽城的輪廓。

For miles around, dawn has not lit the sky.
Cannot distinguish cloud-forest hue,
Only hear wind-water sounds, empty and true.
The moon descends behind the mountain's crest,
The River slants across the Dipper's nest.

Faintly appears the city of Luoyang.
