烏雲散去，驟雨停歇，天空將要放晴；
斑鳩呼喚伴侶，鳴叫聲聲相應和。
山南山北的樹蔭裡，
它們歡快地相互追逐，爭相飛鳴。
而我被流放，只能停留在平樂；
妻子兒女還寄居在遙遠的瀟湘城。
五嶺橫亙天際，我的呼喚無法抵達，
竟不如那斑鳩尚且有情意。

Clouds gather, rain ceases, the sky yearns to clear;
Turtledoves call their mates, all in harmony here.
In the shade of trees, north and south of the hill,
They joyfully chase and contend in song at will.
I, an exile, am stranded in Ping-le alone;
My wife and children still dwell in Xiao-xiang town.
The Five Ridges loom vast, my call goes unheard—
Less feeling than turtledoves, such is the word.
