十年戍守在隴北。
冒著夜雪翻越陰山，
迎著秋風進入絕域。
經歷戰事太多，寶刀都已缺損；
行軍艱苦漫長，馬蹄都被磨蝕。
歸來朝見天子，
功勳雖高，臉上卻無驕矜之色。
功勞是戰士們的功勞，
恩德是聖明君主的恩德。
我這卑微的臣子有什麼呢？
唯有一顆期盼國家安定的心。

Five years guarding Longnan's frontier,
Ten years in Longbei, year by year.
Through night snow we crossed the Yin Mountains high,
Autumn winds blew into lands where few come nigh.
Many battles left our treasured blades worn and thin,
Hard marches etched our horses' hooves deep within.
Returning to see the Son of Heaven, our lord,
With lofty merit, yet no boastful word.
The merit belongs to the warriors' might,
The virtue is the enlightened sovereign's light.
What does a humble subject have to claim?
A single heart, to pacify the realm, is my aim.
