霜染的紅葉再也無法維持原狀，
一半隨流水飄去，一半沾附在泥土上。
歸巢的鳥兒立刻感到棲息的寒冷；
尋穴的螞蟻徒然迷失了返程的方向。
在風吹的小徑上，它們學著花兒上下飛舞；
在夜間的窗邊，疑似雨點灑向東西兩旁。
我不讓家僮掃去滿台階的落葉，
打算把新寫的詩句逐片題在落葉之上。

The crimson frost-withered leaves can no longer hold their own,
Half drift with the stream, half cling to the mud, forlorn.
Returning to their nest, birds feel the chill where they rest;
Seeking their holes, ants are lost, their way vainly borne.
On the wind-swept path, they flutter like blossoms, up and down;
By the night window, they sound like rain, sprinkling east and west.
I forbid the servant boy to sweep them off the steps,
For I plan to inscribe new verses on each fallen leaf, as my quest.
