原野上最適宜秋天漫步，
拄著竹杖，太陽即將西斜。
斷橋上，不時有鳥兒站立；
稀疏的草叢裡，露水顯出了蛇行的痕跡。
細雨沾溼了梨樹的葉子，
微風吹過稻田裡的稻花。
山坡西邊又傳來笛聲，
炊煙升起，那裡有兩三戶人家。

The autumn plain is fit for a stroll;
Leaning on my cane as the sun aims to roll.
On the broken bridge, a bird perches now and then;
Through sparse grass, a snake leaves its trail, then.
Fine rain moistens the leaves of pear trees;
A gentle breeze passes over rice flowers with ease.
From the west slope, a flute's sound rises anew,
Where two or three homes' cooking smoke comes into view.
