一種端溪出產的硯石，
產自下岩，由別的水源滋養而成。
價值千金，仿佛生有翅膀能騰飛，
一尺見方的玉璧，奔走卻無腳跟。
我自顧這盤旋曲折的資質，
只適合做那愚鈍的根基。
最終將老死於茅草屋中，
罷了，不再去進獻於金馬門。

From the lower cliffs, nourished by a separate source.
Worth a thousand gold, it soars as if winged,
A foot-long jade disc, it runs without heels.
I look upon my own clumsy, gnarled nature,
Fit only for a blunt and simple root.
In the end, I'll grow old in my thatched hut,
And have done with offering at the Golden Gate.
