君子在禍患尚未發生時便加以防備，
他在天地之先就能察覺事物的細微徵兆。
他開創事物於其形象尚未形成之際，
在憂患發生之前便消除災禍。
周公旦立身處世靈活變通，沒有固定方法，
他不憂慮那些喧鬧的流言蜚語。
聖人能看清作亂之人的本質，
上天厭惡並懲罰那些偏執孤僻之人。
偷竊搶奪哪裡是我的想法？
瓜田李下（容易引起嫌疑的事）又何足談論？

A noble man guards against what's yet to be,
He sees the subtle signs before the world can see.
He shapes the world before its forms are clear and bright,
And quells disaster ere it brings its gloomy night.
The Duke of Zhou stood firm, no fixed method he'd employ,
He cared not for the slanderous rumors' loud annoy.
A sage discerns the troublemaker's vile intent,
Heaven's disgust will punish those who are malcontent.
To steal or rob—how could such thoughts e'er cross my mind?
The melon field, the plum tree—let's not speak of that kind.
