In the still night, no human voice is heard,
From where comes the sound of the pestle, unheard?
Rice is refined by the pestle's beat,
The pestle, through repetition, finds its feat.
If even in small matters this holds true,
How much more for our nature's shaping due?
Thus it was that the ancient sages wise,
Found no rest in their sleep, nor peace in their eyes.
