參天的古木下，是古老的靈潭。
獻上誠心，已宰鵝頸作為祭品，
難道還要激怒神明，非得投擲虎頭？
南邊的田地裡，有人清晨扛著農具去耕作，
斷流的河渠中，沒有客船在夜間航行。
寄語這神異之物：望你最終施以恩惠，
為了挽回天河水，讓它倒流回來。

Where does the coiled dragon bring rain in answer to prayer?
An ancient, towering tree shades the deep, numinous pool.
Sincerity was shown by cutting the goose's neck as offering,
Must we provoke anger by hurling a tiger's head to annoy?
In southern fields, some till the soil at dawn with hoes on shoulders,
On severed streams, no traveler sails his boat by night.
I send this word: divine being, bestow your grace in full,
And turn the Silver River to make its current flow upstream.
