雲霧繚繞的山尖像海潮般湧動，
九月天寒雪落，山中的樹葉顯得沉重。
修道之人境界高遠，只是端坐著，
山中的精怪和野虎都前來恭敬地拱拜。
在山中居住三年，遭遇了兩次荒年，
侍者餓得瘦損，仍攙扶著他步入禪堂。
沿著村落乞討米糧並不認爲是羞恥，
莫要讓那木魚化作龍鍾，穿透水波發出聲響。

Cloud-capped peaks surge like ocean tides,
In ninth-month snow, the mountain leaves hang heavy.
The Daoist sits sublime, in stillness abides,
While mountain goblins and wild tigers bow reverently.
Three years dwelling here, twice famine's blight,
His attendant, weakened by hunger, helps him to the hall.
Begging rice from village homes is no disgrace in sight,
Lest the wooden fish transform to a dragon, its call piercing water's thrall.
