一夜西風吹得樹葉紛飛，
長久客居長安，心中思念著家鄉的庭闈。
離去時隨著邊塞的大雁銜著蘆葦遠行，
歸來時正逢家中的雞啄食著飽滿的黍米。
我靠著城郭謀生，如同當年的蘇秦，
這澄澈江邊的詩景，應屬於謝朓的意境。
帝都繁華的街道上塵土飛揚，
但願我的白衣不要沾染上這些塵灰。

A night of west wind sends the forest leaves in flight,
Long a stranger in Chang'an, I think of home with all my might.
I left as wild geese bore reeds far to the frontier vast,
Returning now, I find domestic fowls pecking grain, fat and fast.
My life by the city wall is like that of Su Qin of yore,
The river scene in clarity belongs to Xie Tiao's lore.
The capital's purple paths are thick with dust and grime,
May I avoid turning my white ramie robe into grimy slime.
