平生的緩緩流逝真令人斷腸。
奇怪的是，天地間唯獨夢境短暫；
老來之後，歲月流逝更覺心緒悠長。
城頭急促的鼓聲勾起千家愁怨；
江邊殘留的梅花使一江流水染香。
我自封為醉侯，開闢這醉鄉國度；
笑看人們奔走忙碌，究竟是為誰繁忙。

Where a lifetime's slow passing could break the heart aloud.
Strange, that in this vast world only dreams are brief;
As age comes, the years stretch long with lingering grief.
Urgent drums on the city wall bring a thousand homes' lament;
On the river, fading plum blossoms scent the stream's descent.
I make myself the Drunken Lord, founding a realm of wine;
I laugh at those who rush about—for whom do they toil and pine?
