寓所的庭院狹小，寬度還不足半弓；
用燕子銜來的泥作菜圃，用石頭壘成矮牆。
栽種了一兩株瑞香和萱草，
還有三四叢蔥葉和蔊菜苗。
幼子建成了他小小的金谷園，
蝸牛選擇在這裡築巢，而非華麗的宮殿。
我也想著每天去走走，隨同孩子的嬉戲，
只看著螞蟻能沿著一條小徑通行。

My courtyard's narrow, less than half a bow's length wide;
With swallow mud for soil and stones to fence the side.
A fragrant daphne, a day-lily or two,
And three or four clumps of onion and cress anew.
My child has built a tiny Golden Valley here;
