閱讀舊作,眼睛感到十分酸痛;
剛翻開時,愁緒仿佛將要消散;
A guest from afar came to my door,
And left me a book, a scroll to explore.
Reading old texts, my eyes ache with pain;
Reciting new lines, my spirit's regained.
At first glance, sorrow seems to fade away;
Yet long perusal dims the bright display.
I know full well there's no perfection here,
But still I read on, driven by a fear.
Perhaps from dregs, some richness I might glean,
A single drop of grace, however lean.
In the end, silence—nothing to obtain,
Only weariness and a clouded brain.
But when deep weariness brings sound sleep's grace,
It still surpasses a sleepless night's embrace.
