海棠、桃樹和李樹的花朵已在雨中凋零殆盡，
清明時節又添了兩日的狂風，更使它們飄零。
那風好似癲狂的病人，毫無顧忌地肆虐；
花朵如同醉酒的人，昏昏沉沉無法清醒。
我正行走在楚地的山巒間，路途越行越遠；
我的家卻寄居在秦淮之東，比東更東的地方。
你說這些殘存的花瓣有什麼值得珍惜的呢？
只怕到了後來，連這點殘紅也將消失無蹤。

Peach and plum and crabapple, all vanish in the rain;
Two days of wind in Clear Bright season add to their pain.
The wind, like a madman, raves without restraint or care;
The flowers, as if drunk, droop in a daze of despair.
My journey stretches farther, past southern peaks so high;
My home lies east of East River, beneath the sky.
You say these fading blooms are not worth a regret—
But soon, I fear, not even fading blooms will be left.
