柳樹的梢頭拂入溪流上雲朵的陰涼之中，
柳樹的根須深深插入溪水的深處。
如今它立在岸邊，像一把破舊的掃帚，
待到歸時在陽光下嬉戲，便化作千縷金黃的絲絛。
人生的榮盛與凋零也是如此，
凋零何必怨恨，榮盛又何必歡喜？
秋霜與春雨本是四季自然的輪轉，
老夫我問柳樹，柳樹卻渾然不知。

Willow tips brush into the creek where clouds cast shade,
Willow roots plunge deep into the creek's dark water laid.
Now by the bank it stands, a worn-out broom so bare,
But soon in sun it plays, a thousand gold threads fair.
So rises and falls human glory, thus our fate—
Why grieve at fall, or at rise feel elated state?
Spring rain and autumn frost just follow seasons' call,
I ask the willow, but it knows nothing at all.
