樹葉落時蟬已不在，
又隨著林木新葉而重生。
從不離開荒廢的園苑之地，
偏偏格外感受到異鄉的情愫。
幽微的鳴聲與松風合爲一體，
空空的肚腸被竹露清洗得清澈。
溪邊的鳥兒無故追逐它們，
飛落下來，在地面上行走。

With the forest's new leaves, they're born again.
Never leaving this desolate garden's domains,
They keenly feel the sorrow of a foreign plain.
Their faint chant blends with the wind through the pine;
Their empty guts are cleansed by bamboo dew, clear and fine.
For no reason, stream birds chase them in a line,
They flutter down, to walk upon the earth's design.
