孤亭隱入幽深陰森的林木之中，
竹間小徑向北通往松樹環繞的山塢。
高大的樹林被清風吹動，
還在滴落著前夜殘留的雨水。
我解開衣襟，在此危石上靜坐，
左右四周，一個人影也無。
我的本性就不耐煩喧囂繁雜，
更何況此刻又如此缺少伴侶。
孤寂的情懷寄託於空曠寥廓之境，
世俗的思慮全然斷絕，不再紛擾。
幽靜的花兒爲誰而綻放笑顏？
孤獨的鳥兒只是自顧自地啼鳴。
身體安閒，得以保全天然的本性，
一呼一吸之間，仿佛了悟了萬古的寂然。
忽然前往又忽然歸來，
有誰能明白這踽踽獨行的意味呢？

A lone pavilion enters the deep shade, somber and still,
A bamboo path leads north to a pine-girt dell.
Tall woods stir with a clear, whistling breeze,
Still dripping with the rain from yester eve.
I loosen my robe and sit precariously here,
To left and right, not a single soul appears.
My nature cannot bear the bustle and the crowd,
How much more now, in this companionless shroud?
My solitary heart finds solace in vast emptiness,
All worldly cares are severed, leaving no trace.
For whom do the secluded flowers smile so bright?
The lone bird only speaks to itself in flight.
Leisure of body grants heaven's wholeness to me,
A single breath encompasses all eternity.
Now coming, now going, in sudden, fleeting ways,
Who knows this lonely, solitary pace?
