清晨時分，我揚鞭策馬登上險峻的山岡，
馬蹄凌厲地踏在新結的霜上。
昨日那高聳入雲的山峯還是一片碧綠，
今朝卻滿眼蕭索，儘是枯黃。
落葉紛披，散落在地，令人疑是虎跡，
曲折的小路盤旋蜿蜒，好似羊腸。
倘若我的巡行視察能有所裨益，
又怎會畏懼這崎嶇漫長的道路。

At dawn, I ride my horse up the steep ridge,
Its hooves press sharply on the fresh frost.
Yesterday, the towering peaks were emerald green,
Today, a desolate yellow fills my view.
Fallen leaves, scattered, seem like tiger tracks,
Winding paths twist like a sheep's intestine.
If my inspection can bring some small benefit,
Why should I fear the rugged, lengthy road?
