細雨使山腳的樹林靜寂無聲，
斑鳩鳥彼此呼應著鳴叫。
移船盪漾在清淺的水面上，
臨近傍晚，荷塘的風開始吹起。
歸巢的鳥兒都成雙飛走，
水底的魚兒不時驚跳一下。
菰米和蒲草中彷彿沒有人的蹤跡，
只有渺茫的炊煙橫向瀰漫。
有小船划著槳來迎接我，
帶著魚準備用南方的方法烹煮。
月亮出來了，但還升得不高，
稀疏的樹林掩映著它微弱的光明。
投靠寄宿的地方一定會找到，
就在北斗星懸掛的天邊城池附近。

A light rain hushes the woods at the mountain's foot,
Where turtledoves call to each other in reply.
My boat drifts over the clear and shallow water,
As evening breeze rises from lotus leaves nearby.
Paired birds all fly back home in the fading light,
While hidden fish now and then startle with a leap.
The reeds and rushes seem devoid of human trace,
Where distant cooking smoke spreads in a misty sweep.
A small boat with oars comes to welcome me ashore,
Bringing fish to be cooked in southern style with care.
The moon has risen, yet not high above the ground,
Sparse woods conceal its faint and gentle radiance there.
A place to rely on and lodge will surely be found,
Where the Dipper hangs near the town at heaven's bound.
