玄冥幽遠之理無法追問到底,
虛幻的傳說大多詭異怪奇。
蒼天只是呈現出它的形貌,
其中的深意實在難以解析。
自從孔子絕筆不再著述,
人文禮教早已衰敗凋敝。
如果真有主宰造化的神靈,
它的作為應不會始終隱晦沉寂。
我願使自己的心志如死灰,
將世人置於聾聵之中不去理會。
重新做那崆峒山的隱士,
穴居野外,以土筐為伴,了此餘生。
Qu Yuan once posed his Questions to Heaven,
Liu Zongyuan later wrote his replies.
The mysteries of the deep are beyond all questioning,
Fantastic tales are filled with strange surmise.
The vast blue sky merely shows its form,
Its hidden meaning remains hard to realize.
Since Confucius laid his brush aside,
The light of culture has long been in demise.
If there truly is a master of creation,
Its workings should not forever be disguised.
I wish to still my heart to ashes,
And leave the world in deafness, blind to all its cries.
Once more I'd be a man of Mount Kongtong,
Dwelling in caves, with earth and baskets as my prize.
