我以輕蔑的目光看待時局，
剛直的心腸厭惡庸俗的潮流。
也知道黃蜂有毒刺，
卻不相信老鼠值得投靠。
在熟睡中消磨時光，
用清朗的吟誦排遣憂愁。
倚靠門邊，殷切地眺望，
早晚要寫下歸還的篇章。

My upright heart detests the vulgar tide's sway.
I know the wasp carries a sting, it's true,
Yet I doubt a rat is worthy to pursue.
In deep slumber I while away the hours,

Leaning by the gate, my gaze is keen and long,
Awaiting the time to compose my homeward song.
