In the county school, I roamed with Zizhi, your brother,
While Ziming, another, attended by your mother.
In learning, you spurred each other with ardent might,
Your fame soon spread across the realm of brush and light.
The second son achieved success as if from a sack,
The eldest followed, soaring high on glory's track.
Already glad to see your names on the Pagoda's wall,
Your house's blessings, I know, are beyond measure all.
Two dragons, three phoenixes, together auspicious shine,
A whole family brilliant, like jade tablets fine.
Succession of fame, one after another, in view,
So many became Buddhas, as in scriptures told true.
In unbroken line, you outshine the Hall of Golden Flower,
Why should Kuaiji boast only of the Huang clan's power?
The world speaks of the Dou family in Yanshan old,
With an aged spring tree and five osmanthus in fold.
Now you take this to name your hall, a noble deed,
Gentlemen honor it with verses rich indeed.
Almost vying with the Dou's in glory and renown,
My own family also gains praise in our town.
Since my uncle first broke through the barren sky,
Five times in exams at the Court he rose high.
Branches divided, each line formed its own part,
Dare I compare my family with yours from the start?
Your lady enjoys more blessings, health and long life,
Yearly feasts are held with cups raised in her honor rife.
Colorful robes and blue-purple gowns brilliantly glow,
The greatest joy in life, rarely seen, you now know.
When the source is deep, the stream will surely flow long;
Grandsons' branches will again bear autumn fragrance strong.
