必須明白，明哲保身與真正的智慧是不同的。
錯誤地理解中庸之道，會誤導人以致釀成殺身之禍。
假使一個人不去做那些小人般的惡行，
那麼必定會招致善人的責怪與憤怒。
我平生難道是爲了追求虛名嗎？
這個念頭，尚且應當向鬼神去質證。
漢朝的興亡我雖無力補救，
卻要扶助天地間的正道，確立君臣的綱常。

If one refrains from the petty evils of the crowd,
Surely the good will feel indignation and wrath.

Though I cannot mend the rise and fall of the Liu house,
