四鄰敲擊牆壁，呼喊著向我道賀。
我早就知道旱情持續並非所願；
果然看見雨水追逐著浮雲而過。
庭院池塘已有滿溢的流水注入；
田地卻未得沾潤，又能奈何？
雷霆嗔怒、電光嬉笑，究竟爲了什麼？
隱居之人徒然荒廢時光，臥於南窗之下。

Neighbors knock on the wall, calling out their congratulations.
Long have I known the drought's persistence was not to be wished;
And indeed, I see the rain chasing the floating clouds away.
The courtyard pond is already brimming with flowing water;
Yet the fields remain unmoistened—what can one do?
Why do the thunder's wrath and lightning's laughter strive in vain?
The recluse merely wastes away, lying idly by the southern window.
