我坐著，爲天下遭受的赤熱而憂愁；
怎樣才能借得一陣清風給我們呢？
它應當能捲來雨水，消除連年的旱災，
將雲朵全部吹散，讓天空重現高闊。
豈會像在虎口下令那樣輕易呼嘯，
只願助鴻毛一力，斷絕遠行的勞苦。
江海可憐沒有邊際的岸線束縛，
便隨意地假藉此力，興起滔滔波濤。

Sitting, I fret for the world in this crimson heat;
Where can we borrow a cooling breeze, I pray?
It would roll up the rain to end the drought's defeat,
And blow all clouds away, leaving the sky clear and high.
Not like a tiger's roar that follows a light command,
But willing to aid the wild goose feather's long flight.
The rivers and seas, pitiful with shores so grand,
Would casually lend their waves with all their might.
