人生百年到死,財富能享用幾日?
倚仗財富彷彿很牢固,這有什麼道理呢?
莊子曾將富貴視為病患,
喜愛他的放達超脫,與世俗相異。
南山的積雪使群峰變為美玉,
拿來向世間售賣,又能值多少錢?
山中的老者固然因自足而欣喜,
幼小的孩子不要譏笑,雖然貧窮依然歌唱。
The world, for profit and rank, does not choose what's right,
If one can seize by running, feet fear to stumble.
Hoard a thousand gold at home, grudging every ounce,
Dare not spend it all—what's the use of having so much?
From birth to death, how many days does wealth last?
Relying on it as if firm—what principle is that?
Master Zhuang once saw wealth as a malady,
Loving his unfettered ease, passing beyond the vulgar.
Southern mountains clad in snow turn to masses of jade,
Lift them to sell to the world—what price would they fetch?
The mountain elder, content with his own richness,
His young child, don't mock—though poor, still sings.
