眼前的紅花綠葉一天天變得更加繁茂，
想要排遣春天的愁緒，興致卻未能提起來。
怎樣才能讓好花全都自己結出果實，
使得沒有閒置的土地得以生長荊棘。
想要圖謀長醉，卻因貧窮無法實現；
起身去追逐東風，又因慵懶難以勝任。
芳草與斜陽正顯得柔美動人，
我越發知道那高處是不堪攀登的。

Red and green before my eyes daily grow more dense,
I wish to dispel spring sorrow, but my spirits are too faint.
Where can I find fine flowers all bearing fruit of their own?
So that no idle ground is left for thorns to be sown.
I long for lasting inebriation, but poverty thwarts the plan;
I rise to chase the east wind, yet my languor overpowers the man.
Sweet grass and slanting sun are now tender and fair,
All the more I know the heights are too perilous to dare.
