兀坐苦無營，乘閑偶訪僧。

wù zuò kǔ wú yíng， chéng xián ǒu fǎng sēng。

ㄨˋ ㄗㄨㄛˋ ㄎㄨˇ ㄨˊ ㄧㄥˊ，ㄔㄥˊ ㄒㄧㄢˊ ㄡˇ ㄈㄤˇ ㄙㄥ。

山深雲作伴，庵迥石為朋。

shān shēn yún zuò bàn， ān jiǒng shí wéi péng。

古木含蒼蘚，幽花落翠藤。

白話文翻譯

我獨自端坐，苦於沒有俗事營求，

趁著閒暇，偶然去拜訪一位僧人。

深山之中，白雲作我的伴侶，

庵堂僻遠，岩石是它的友朋。

古樹上覆蓋著蒼翠的苔蘚，

幽靜的花朵飄落在青翠的藤蔓上。

黃昏的鐘聲敲過三遍之後，

童子便來點燃香燭和燈火。

Sitting alone, vexed by no worldly scheme,

I seize my leisure to visit a monk by the stream.

Deep in the mountains, clouds are my company;

Far from the world, rocks keep the hermitage company.

Ancient trees are clad in moss of verdant hue;

Hidden flowers fall on vines of emerald hue.

After the evening bell has tolled thrice and gone,

A novice boy comes to light the incense and lamp at dawn.
