那聒噪的烏鴉屬於秦氏，
那穿梭的燕子屬於吳宮。
秦人拿著彈弓，鳥巢危如累卵，
吳宮遭遇火災，燕巢散落一空。
卻不知那田野間的麻雀，
整日在茅屋簷角。
卑微地棲息，低頭啄食在蓬蒿艾草之間，
不畏懼鷹鸇猛禽，也不怕弓箭的傷害。

The cawing crow of the House of Qin,
The darting swallow of the Wu palace halls.
The Qin men, with slingshots, threaten the nest with peril,
The Wu palace, consumed by fire, leaves the nest scattered and void.
But consider the sparrow in the wild fields,
All day long at the corner of the thatched eaves.
Humbly dwelling, pecking amidst the weeds and mugwort,
It fears not the hawk, the harrier, the bow, nor the arrow.
