六朝的繁華盛景如今只剩空曠的場所，
金陵的帝王氣象也已黯淡地消散。
煙靄濃重，草色遙遠，眺望不盡，
景物變換，星辰移轉，度過了多少春秋。
究竟這萬里江山誰才是真正的主人？
卻因爲沉醉歌舞而破除了一切，歸於休止。
我來到這裡已看不見當時的舊事，
登上高高的城牆，還要再上高樓。

The royal aura of Jinling has dimmed and withdrawn.
Through thick mist and distant grass, the view stretches beyond compare;
Things change, stars shift, how many autumns have come and gone?

I come but see no trace of those bygone days and wills;
