古代的楚人能令畏壘之地豐收，
我這一生卻反而拖累了越地百姓，使他們貧困。
至今仍無可奈何地看著曾孫輩的莊稼，
多少次白白期盼那能帶來降雨的少女風。
這件事終須等待星辰顯現吉兆，
往昔我曾厭倦那迷濛的細雨。
好在山中還有充足的芋頭可充飢，
不必去依附諸侯，寄人籬下。

The old Chu man could make the barren mound yield plenty,
Yet now I, in this life, burden the Yue folk with poverty.
To this day, helpless, I watch the crops of my descendants,
How many times have I vainly hoped for the maiden wind's favor?
This matter must await the stars' good disposition,
In other times, I have wearied of the misty, drizzling rain.
Fortunately, in the mountains, I have enough taro to eat,
And need not seek refuge with the lords as a dependent.
