茅草屋簷緊挨著城郊的邊緣。
荊條編成的門扉，送走了歲末的關隘。
賓客往來的小徑，已覆滿秋日的苔蘚。
童僕在暮色中唱著歌，背著柴薪歸還。
在石臼上舂搗粱米，辛苦異常。
效仿牆東避世的先賢，卻也艱難。
門閂尚且可以拿來當作柴燒。
又有誰會來探訪我這簡陋的居所和容顏？

Thatched eaves press close to the outskirts of town.
The wicker gate sees the year's end come around.
The guest's path is covered with autumn moss, green.
The lad returns at dusk, singing, with firewood keen.
Pounding grain on the stone is a bitter chore.
To hide east of the wall, from the world, is hard to endure.
The door-bolt can still serve to kindle a fire.
But who would visit this humble abode, to inquire?
