不要誇耀《四分律》講罷和《楞嚴經》的深奧，
按下雲頭，徹底地參究悟道。
不要學亮公只親近馬祖道一，
應像德嶠禪師那樣去訪求龍潭崇信。
七年裡我往返遊歷昭覺寺，
三年間翱翔於碧巖之上。
今日有勞我充任首座之職，
猶如優曇波羅花在百花叢中顯現。

Cease boasting of the four divisions' end, the Śūraṅgama's might,
Press down the cloud's head, contemplate with all your inner light.
Do not learn from Liang Gong, who sought Master Ma alone,
Rather be like De Qiao, who visited Dragon Pool as his own.
For seven years I wandered back and forth to Zhaojue's gate,
For three more soared aloft upon the Azure Cliff, my fate.
Today, troubled to take the foremost seat, I'm called,
A Udumbara blooms midst hundreds of flowers, unveiled.
