我常常懷念隱士陶淵明，
他過去曾想居住在南村。
我割除茅草，搭建起低矮的屋舍，
種植桑樹，讓前廊得到蔭蔽。
鮮美的蔬菜還不足一捧，
渾濁的酒卻不時斟滿一杯。
有客人沿著這樣的路逕到來，
我們只談論神農氏的教誨。

I often think of the recluse Tao Yuanming,
Who once wished to dwell in the Southern Village.
I clear the thatch and build a lowly hut,
And plant mulberries to shade the front porch.
Fresh vegetables barely fill my hands,
Yet turbid wine fills a cup from time to time.
When a visitor comes on such a path,
We only speak of the teachings of Shennong.
