上天治理下界萬民，
其實也是將一切託付給自然之道。
禍福與是非對錯，
日日夜夜相互推移變遷。
就好比泥土在陶輪之上，
隨著本分而有美醜不同的形態。
醜陋並非自然所厭惡，
美好也並非自然所憐愛。
自然那憐愛的心思我們無法知曉，
這才懂得要安樂於自己的天性。

The heavens rule the people below,
In truth, they entrust all to nature's flow.
Fortune, misfortune, right and wrong,
Day and night, in endless change, they throng.
Like clay upon the potter's wheel,
Each takes its form, some fair, some base, we feel.
The base is not what nature hates,
The fair is not what she celebrates.
Her favor, we cannot discern,
Thus we learn to find joy in our own turn.
