像氾濫江河中不繫纜的小舟，
又像飄搖孤獨飛翔的鴻雁。
楊朱曾為歧路而哭泣，
阮籍曾因途窮而悲傷。
我的志向不屬於這類感慨，
我高聲吟詠，將詩篇託付給春風。

Where does the wanderer aim to go?
Up and down the mountains and waters, to and fro.
Like an unmoored boat adrift on the flood,
Or a lone wild goose soaring in solitude.
Yang Zhu wept at the fork in the road,
Ruan Ji grieved where all pathways seemed to erode.
My aspiration is not of their kind,
I chant aloud, entrusting my verse to the spring wind.
