積累德行要從細微之處做起，
但美名可以傳遍天地之間。
古人成就德行非常艱難，
今人敗壞它卻很容易。
不懂得嚴格要求自己，
卻唯獨對他人求全責備。
如果天下都奉行這種主張，
豈不是要毀掉所有的道義情誼？
觀察事物，我私下有所領悟；
寫下這首詩，姑且作爲自我銘記。

Virtue is built from the slightest acts,
Yet fame can fill the heavens and the earth.
The ancients found its completion hard,
But modern men can ruin it with ease.
They know not to hold themselves to account,
But are quick to demand of others.
If this doctrine prevails under heaven,
Will it not destroy all bonds of honor?
Observing things, I secretly gain insight;
I write this poem merely for my own record.
