那繁茂芬芳的薺菜啊，
鬱鬱蔥蔥地生長在這山丘之間。
它的甘美豈不珍貴？
它冒著嚴寒卻不失柔韌之姿。
我輕言採摘而歸，
呼喚僕人準備晨間的菜餚。

I grieve for the fallen leaves in late autumn's sheen.
Those fragrant shepherd's-purse, so lush and fine,
Grow thick and strong upon this hill of mine.
Their sweetness is a treasure, not to be denied,

I pluck them gently, carrying them home with care,
And call my servant to prepare a morning fare.
