陽暉爍四野，萬里纖雲收。

yáng huī shuò sì yě， wàn lǐ xiān yún shōu。

ㄧㄤˊ ㄏㄨㄟㄕㄨㄛˋ ㄙˋ ㄧㄝˇ，ㄨㄢˋ ㄌㄧˇ ㄒㄧㄢㄩㄣˊ ㄕㄡ。

羲和困路遠，正午當空留。

xī hé kùn lù yuǎn， zhèng wǔ dāng kōng liú。

枝條不動影，草木皆含愁。

太陽的光芒灼烤著四野，

萬里晴空，纖薄的雲彩都已消散。

駕日的羲和睏倦於路途遙遠，

正午時分，停留在天空中央。

枝條靜止，影子紋絲不動，

花草樹木都仿佛含著愁緒。

幽深的森林裡，猛虎不再咆哮，

臥地喘息，如同吳地的耕牛。

蟬的鳴叫是多麼微弱，

可嘆你們，只是徒然地啾啾作響。

The sun's fierce rays scorch the vast fields,

For ten thousand miles, fine clouds are swept away.

Xihe, the sun charioteer, wearied by the distant road,

Lingers at the zenith, pausing in midday.

Not a branch stirs, its shadow lies still,

Every plant and tree seems steeped in sorrow.

In the deep woods, tigers cease their roar,

Lying panting like oxen from the southern land.

How feeble is the cicada's song,

Alas, your chirping is but a futile sound.
