夜色初晴，剛剛能看見月亮，
雲層稀薄，月光還不甚分明。
高高的樹木尚且沒有投下影子，
遠處的鴻雁不時傳來幾聲鳴叫。
走下台階，嫌棄鞋履被露水沾溼，
關上房門，辨認出苔蘚正在生長。
牆角的陰影寂靜地沉入昏暗，
更漏已長，月亮也漸漸西斜了。

The sky clears at night, the moon first appears,
Clouds thin, its light not yet distinct and clear.
Tall trees still cast no shadow on the ground,
Distant geese at times send forth a lonely sound.
I step down, dislike the dampness on my shoes;
I close the door, see moss where moisture brews.
Silent, silent, the wall's shade turns to gloom,
The long night watch has passed, the moon will soon resume.
