南邊的山岡上，深密的竹林滋養著竹筍，
竹林下面有鷓鴣在鳴叫。
臘月將盡時初次挑選竹菌（筍），
誇讚其新鮮，想要比美瓊玉。
進獻在盤中的香氣更加美好，
佐酒時味道格外清醇。
馬援如果當時見到，
定會拿《禹貢》中的貢品來品評它。

In the southern ridge, deep bamboo groves grow,
Beneath them, partridges' calls come and go.
Breaking winter's hold, first bamboo shoots are sought,
Praised as new, to rival jade they're thought.
On the offering plate, their fragrance is more fine,
With wine, their taste is especially clear and divine.
Had Ma Yuan in his time such a sight seen,
He would have praised it in his "Tribute" keen.
