秋日的天空連續下了幾十天雨，
四海仿佛低垂，壓住了大鵬的翅膀。
白天看不見太陽的光輝，
夜晚看不見月亮的形魄。
天上的銀河仿佛灑盡了水流，
女媧的補天石也被蒸得爛軟。
路上的積水快要淹沒車輪，
牛馬因背負車軛而困頓不堪。
各種蟲類找不到泥土蟄伏，
許多果實就在枝頭裂開。
如何才能誅殺那興雨的陰虯，
立刻使天地重現開闊晴朗？

The very seas seem to drown the roc's wing.
By day, the sun's essence is lost to sight;
By night, the moon's spirit hides from the night.
The Heavenly River spills its endless stream,
The stones of Nüwa soften, steamed and worn.
Muddy floods threaten to bury the cart's wheel,
Oxen and horses strain beneath the yoke, forlorn.
Swarming insects find no earth to hibernate,
A hundred fruits split open on the bough.
How can I slay the rain-dragon, dark and great,
And make the parted sky and earth clear now?
