偃月城西邊是錦繡般的河川，
迴環的亭臺樹木分佈在曲折的池邊。
閒適地乘著竹轎或穿著蠟屐投入其中，
信步向前，穿過竹塢與開滿鮮花的小溪。
陽光照耀下，寒梅融化了它素雅的豔麗，
垂柳拂過水麵，撥弄著輕柔的煙靄。
春神已經釋放了春天的消息，
為此我寫下這尋訪芳菲的第一篇詩章。

West of the Crescent City lies Brocade Stream, fair and bright;
Winding pavilions, trees, and pools curve within sight.
At leisure, in my bamboo chair or on waxed clogs I roam,
Through bamboo groves and flowered creeks, I freely stroll toward home.
The winter plum in sunbeams melts its pure, fair hue;
The weeping willows brush the waves, toying with misty dew.
The Lord of Spring has loosed the news that warmer days are here;
I write this verse, the first to seek the fragrance of the year.
