整年常常避開人羣的紛擾。
傍晚在荒蕪的田畦里扛著鋤頭勞作，
四周的圍牆內新結了一間茅草屋。
生病的馬何必費力驅趕它呢？
輕盈的鷗鳥也不肯被人馴服。
雖然慚愧比不上守市門的小卒，
姑且就當一回葛天氏時代的百姓吧。

All worldly affairs I cast from my sight,
Throughout the year I shun the crowd's delight.
Late, with a hoe, I tend my wild field's plot,
My thatched hut, newly built, encloses the spot.
My ailing horse—why drive it away?
The light gull refuses to be tamed, they say.
Though shamed I am not a market guard so bold,
I'll play the part of a Ge Tian man of old.
