種下黏高粱是為了招待留宿的客人，
移栽花木，等待著探尋春日的消息。
在愁苦的邊緣開闢一片快樂的國土，
在喧鬧之中保持一份閒適的身心。
我的鬢髮如今已是這般模樣，
不必向人詢問我頭顱的境況。
白鷗並非是為了逃避世俗，
只是它野性的本能本就難以馴服。

I plant glutinous millet to entertain my guest,
Transplant flowers, awaiting spring's exploratory zest.
Amidst my sorrows, I create a land of joy,
Within the bustle, I maintain a leisure's poise.
My hair and temples now are in such state as this,
Ask not of others how my head and fate persist.
The white gull does not flee the vulgar world by choice,
Its wild nature, by itself, resists the taming voice.
