旌旗和符節就像我院中的向日葵，
鼓吹的樂聲就像我池中鳴叫的青蛙。
這使得我這個澆灌園圃的老翁，
忽然間仿佛成了富貴人家。
浮生都不過是一場喧鬧，
事情過後只剩下感慨嘆息。
那些愚昧無知的是什麼樣的人啊，
竟想摘取虛空中的花朵。
牆角邊的蔬菜可以採摘，
巷口的小店可以賒酒。
疏懶閒散正合我的本性，
我不會去效仿東陵侯賣瓜。

Banners and halberds are the sunflowers in my courtyard,
Drums and pipes are the frogs croaking in my pond.
Thus, the old gardener who tends the plants,
Suddenly finds himself in a house of wealth and rank.
Floating life is but a single uproar,
When things pass, one can only sigh in lament.
Silly, silly, what kind of man is that,
Who tries to pluck a flower from the empty sky?
By the wall corner, vegetables can be plucked;
At the lane's mouth, wine can be bought on credit.
Indolent and idle, I follow my nature,
I will not sell the melons of Dongling.
